The PTO needs you!

Our Mission is to create a safe, nurturing, learning environment that empowers students to achieve personal excellence while building confidence.

Please note that the final meeting of the Robert Moton PTO for this school year has been rescheduled to May 15 at 7 pm in the school cafeteria.

The Robert Moton PTO needs your help! We are losing two members of our board at the end of this year. We are in need of a Vice President and a Fundraiser Chair for the 2017-2018 school year. The other three members of the board are returning, so there will be plenty of guidance for anyone new to PTO work or to the school in general. Being on the PTO board does NOT mean all of your time will be consumed with meetings and activities….it DOES mean that you will get a say in what types of fundraisers and family nights are planned!

Three board members cannot do the work of five people. If we don’t find more helping hands, we will have no choice but to eliminate some of our traditional activities in the coming year: Super Saturday, Back to School Picnic, Sweetheart Dance, Holiday Event…
Please consider joining us in helping our students and our school. Nomination forms and position responsibilities can be found below. If you have any questions send us an email! Thank you!

Without interested parents the PTO would not exist.

Officer Nomination Form 2017-2018

The Children’s Holiday Shoppe is Coming to our School!

We’re happy to formally announce our Children’s Holiday Shoppe which will run both Friday (12/2/2016) and Saturday (12/3/2016)!

About the Children’s Holiday Shoppe:

The Holidays are near and, as a special service, the Robert Moton PTO is hosting a Children’s Holiday Shoppe. Children will have the opportunity to pick out their own inexpensive, high quality gifts for family & friends. The Holiday Shoppe is a program designed for children to shop on their own at school, in a safe, non-commercial environment.  They can learn to budget their money and spend wisely, while also experiencing the “Joy of Giving”.  kids-exchanging-gifts

Gifts are priced for a child’s budget enabling them to purchase many gifts for their family members. We will provide Shopping Budget Envelopes. This will allow you and your child the opportunity to decide together how much can be spent on each person.

The Children’s Holiday Shoppe at RME is a parent-free zone!
Middle- and high school volunteers will walk the kids through the Shoppe and wrap the gifts they choose while moms and dads are dashed away to the commons area (no peeking!).  Parent volunteers will help run the registers.  Cash is preferred, but we will also accept credit cards

Event Schedule:

Friday Dec. 2, 6:30pm-8:30pm Family Fun Night: We will have holiday crafts, music and games for the whole family to enjoy.  This is also a great time to visit the Children’s Holiday Shoppe!  If you want the best selection come Friday night before it is open to the community, on Saturday.

Saturday Dec. 3, 10:00am – 4:00pm Children’s Holiday Shoppe and Craft Fair: We have invited parents and friends of RME sell their products.  We will have crafters as well as consultants from Pampered Chef, LuLaRoe, Jamberry, Scentsy, Mary Kay and more!   The adults are invited to shop our craft fair while the children are hunting for the perfect gifts in the Holiday Shoppe.
